Rome: At least one person is believed to have died, while four others were injured in a knife attack in the Italian city of Milan on Thursday. The incident took place in a shopping center in Assago, a suburb of Milan. According to reports, a man armed with a knife stabbed several people.

The accused allegedly stole the knife from the supermarket to carry out the attack. A 30-year-old mall employee died on the way to hospital, Italian news agency ANSA reported.

Among the injured was Spanish footballer Pablo Mari. He is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. He is now conscious. Notably, Mari is currently on loan at Italian football club AC Monza, from Arsenal in England. Monza club CEO Adrian Galliano wished the footballer a speedy recovery.

“Dear Pablo, we are all close to you and your family, we wish you good luck, keep fighting like you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will recover soon,” Galliani said in a message tweeted by the soccer club. .

The 46-year-old suspect was arrested by the police. The motive for the attack is still not known. Meanwhile, authorities said there was evidence to call it a terrorist attack. The suspect suffered from psychological disorders.
