Naija News recalls that barely a month ago, the Nigerian military declared that its Joint Task Force Sector 2 North East troops Operation Hadin Kai repelled an attack by Boko Haram and insurgents from the Islamic State of West Africa province on Babangida city ​​in the state of Yobe.

The military said Boko Haram terrorists, who encountered a fierce counterattack from vigilant troops, were on a mission to infiltrate the town of Babangida and prowl for logistics resupply.

This was revealed in a statement from the director of public relations of the army, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu.

Nwachukwu said the terrorists were under control, which led to the capture of a firearms truck, a Dushka anti-aircraft gun, two AK 47 rifles and uninitiated improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists on the run.

The statement reads as follows: “The law-abiding citizens of Yobe State and the Northeast in general are assured of the determination of the Army Chief of Staff to finally drive the Boko Haram / Islamic State terrorists out of the province of West Africa from their hiding places.

“They are also encouraged to continue to provide the troops with actionable information that would improve the speedy execution of the ongoing counterterrorism and insurgency operations in the region.

He added that the Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya praised the dotted troops for their vigilance and swiftness in countering the attack.
