Children Most Victimized by Indian State Terrorism at IIOJK

In India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops, in their relentless acts of state terrorism, have martyred 910 children over the past 33 years.

A report released by the Research Section of the Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, today (04 June), revealed that 910 children were among the 96,054 martyred Kashmiris by Indian troops from 01 January 1989 to Date. The report said the killing of civilians by troops orphaned 107,860 children in the territory during the period.

The report said thousands of people, including school boys and girls, were also injured by pellets, bullets and tear gas canisters fired by Indian troops, police and paramilitary forces. He added that hundreds of people, including Hiba Jan, 19 months, Shahid Fayaz, 8, Owais Ahmed, 9, Aasif Ahmed Sheikh, 10, Insha Mushtaq (16), Aaqib Zahoor (16), Ulfat Hameed (17 years old), Bilal Ahmad Butt (17 years old), Tariq Ahmed Gojri (19 years old) and Faizan Ashraf Tantray (19 years old) had totally lost sight in one or both eyes due to bullet wounds.

The report adds that hundreds of boys and girls under the age of 19 have been martyred in cordon and search operations and fake encounters, while a large number of boys under the age of 19 face illegal detentions under black laws in different prisons in IIOJK and India.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Political Movement of Jammu and Kashmir (DPM) said in a statement in Srinagar that as the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is observed around the world, today a large number of miners abused and abused by Indian troops in IIOJK.—KMS
