LeT commander killed and police officer injured in arms theft attempt

A foreign terrorist housed in Kot Bhalwal Central Jail was killed while a Jammu and Kashmir police jawan was injured on Wednesday in an attempted arms theft along the international border in the Arnia sector in Jammu.

The slain foreign terrorist belonging to Lashkar-e-Tayyeba has been identified as Mohd Ali Hussain alias Qasim alias Jehangir R/O Pakistan.

Additional Director General of Police Jammu Mukesh Singh said the name of Pakistan-based LeT commander Mohd Ali Hussain surfaced in the case of weapons being dropped via drones in Arnia sector at the border of Jammu. Official sources claimed that the LeT commander had been instrumental in managing the terror. network from inside Jammu Central Jail.

Singh said, FIR case no. 12/2022 of 24.02.2022 PS Arnia, (case of drone drop from Pakistan and subsequent recoveries of weapons and ammunition) was filed. On Wednesday, the LeT commander appeared in court and was later remanded in custody by police. During sustained questioning, the accused admitted his role in the Arnia Weapon Drop case and also revealed 2 locations where weapons and ammunition dropped by a drone had been buried/concealed.
