Again terrorists attacked Kaduna and abducted two leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as they returned from a meeting with Christian leaders in Kafanchan, south Kaduna. The assailants opened fire on party leaders, who were accompanying APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Uba Sani, to Kafanchan for political engagement at Tashar Icce village, along the busy Kaduna -Kachia Thursday evening.
Although the state police command has yet to release a statement on the attack, a source said some of the victims were receiving medical treatment at 44 Military Hospital in the state.
Among those abducted were the Kajuru APC House of Assembly candidate, identified as Madaki, and the party’s deputy chairman of the Kajuru local council, Reuben Waziri.
Waziri’s relative, Ben Maigari, confirmed the abduction, adding that the family had not yet been contacted by the kidnappers. It should be recalled that the gubernatorial candidates of the different political parties met with Christian leaders in Kafanchan.
As many as three thousand clergy and Christian leaders from 11 local councils that make up South Kaduna met and interacted with gubernatorial candidates seeking to rule Kaduna State in 2023.
The meeting, which was labeled “Southern Kaduna Pastor’s Congress”, had five gubernatorial candidates except People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Isa Ashiru and Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Caleb Zagi. , who apologized for not being able to attend.
